Two services, one team
Chargers can move with you, or stay behind. Either way, we'll handle it.
If you’re moving house, your EV charger doesn’t have to stay. We carefully decommission it at the old property, make good the wall and supply, and reinstall it at the new one — properly, to current standards, on a fresh circuit.
If you’re selling and the buyer doesn’t want the charger, we’ll come and remove it cleanly — disconnecting safely, removing the charger and cabling, capping off the supply, and leaving the wall and consumer unit in a tidy state.
Both jobs are quoted properly. No vague day rates, no hidden extras for making good.

When you’d call us
Six common situations.
01
Moving house, taking the charger
You’ve spent £600+ on a charger and a quality install. Doesn’t make sense to leave it behind. We move it with you, and the new home gets a proper install on a fresh circuit.
02
Moving house, leaving it for the buyer
Buyer’s keen on the EV charger. We don’t need to do anything — but the buyer might want a survey or compatibility check. We can do that as a standalone visit.
03
Buyer doesn't want the charger
Some buyers don’t drive electric, don’t want it on the front of the house, or just want a clean wall. We remove it cleanly and you keep the unit (or we’ll take it away).
04
Repositioning at the same address
Driveway moved, garage extended, new car parks somewhere else. We relocate within the same property — usually faster and cheaper than the full move-house version.
05
Old or faulty charger to remove
Charger no longer working, replaced by a newer model, or fitted by someone you’d rather not call back. We’ll remove it cleanly regardless of who installed it.
06
Landlord changing tenants
Outgoing tenant fitted a charger; you’d rather it wasn’t there for the next one. We remove and tidy. Or, if you want to keep it for the property, we can verify it’s safely installed.
How it works
Quote, decommission, reinstall (or not).
Get in touch
Call, email, or quote form. Tell us where the charger is, where it’s going (if anywhere), and we’ll come back with a slot.
Site visit
Quick site visit to assess the existing install and, for relocations, the new location. Quote follows by email — usually same day.
Decommission
We attend, isolate the charger, remove it cleanly, cap off the supply, and tidy the wall. Charger is yours to keep, sell, or we’ll take it.
Reinstall (relocations only)
Where you’re relocating, the new install runs straight after. Same standards as a new install — fresh circuit, RCBO, EIC, DNO notification. Done.
FAQs
Relocation and removal questions, answered.
Will my charger work fine at the new house, or should I replace it?
Almost always works fine. Modern home chargers (anything from the last 5 years) are designed to be portable in this sense — the unit itself doesn’t care which house it’s on. As long as the new property has a suitable supply and consumer unit, your existing charger will work just as well there as it did here. We confirm compatibility at the new-home survey.
How long does a relocation take?
Removal at the old property is usually 1–2 hours. The new install at the new property runs the same as any normal EV charger installation — typically a single day. We can do them on consecutive days, or split them with a gap to fit your moving timeline.
Can you do a removal at short notice if I'm completing soon?
We try to. We hold a few weekly slots specifically for completion-deadline jobs — call us as soon as you know the date. The earlier we know, the more flexibility we have.
Do I have to be there for the removal?
For removals at a property you’re selling, ideally yes — to provide access, sign off the work and settle up. We can sometimes work with letting agents or solicitors holding keys if the timing demands it. For relocations, you (or someone) needs to be at both ends of the move.
What about the OZEV grant — does relocating affect it?
If your original charger was installed under the EV Chargepoint Grant (or its predecessor schemes), the grant rules generally don’t follow the charger to the new property. The grant is tied to the original install. You can still relocate the unit physically; you just don’t get a second grant for the same charger.
Can you remove a charger that wasn't installed by you?
Yes, regardless of who fitted it. The work is the same — disconnect safely, remove cleanly, cap off, tidy. We bring the same care to it as we would to one of our own.
Will the wall look bad after removal?
No — leaving things tidy is part of the job. Cable entry holes get sealed against weather, mounting holes filled, the area cleaned. We won’t repaint the wall (that’s beyond our scope), but the surface will be clean and weatherproof.
What happens to the old cable run?
Where possible, we pull the cable back fully. Where it’s been buried, run through walls, or otherwise impractical to remove without significant damage, we leave it in situ but disconnected and capped at both ends — safe and inert. We tell you which approach applies before we start.
Moving the charger or moving on?
Either way, we’ll handle it. Get in touch and we’ll quote it properly.
